"As your baby progresses from one milestone to the next, remember that he doesn't really leave any of them behind. In order to grow and develop to his full potential he must continually build on and strengthen all of the steps that have gone before."

It was a blustery and yet gorgeous Spring day in the Davis Arboretumwhen I met William and his family for his 8 month milestone portraits. This milestone celebrates his new found ability to sit up on his own! It is a monumental a task for a little person to first gain the strength, and then learn how to sit up on his/her own. It certainly deserves to be commemorated in portraits. Each time I get to see a baby through out his/her first year it is like some magical transformation has happened since the last time. To behold the changes a growing human makes is truly a wonder.
The 8 month milestone is my favorite to photography during a baby's first year...take one look at William's smiles and expression and you will know why.
I am loving the outfit mom picked out for this little man's portraits. The bow tie is that final detail that just makes the costume.
Sometimes toys can make a portrait session just a tiny bit more fun.
Big sister does a good job of keeping William's attention.
Notice the matching bow tie on Dad? Love it!
This little guy is snuggly, relaxed and happy.
Big sister gets a turn in front of the camera. What I especially love about toddlers is the endless variety of faces they can churn out within the span of one minute. My challenge is to make sure at least one of those faces is looking at me smiling pretty!
Giants fans!
And we end the session with William looking very dapper in a different bow tie and snappy hat!
I hope you enjoyed these sweet images of one adorable baby!
